🌟 Hats off to Dame Sarah Storey! 🌟

Nneka Uchea Smith

For those who might not know her remarkable story, today Sarah Storey secured her 18th Paralympic gold medal (with victory in the women's C5 time trial) and her 29th Paralympic medal overall. 🎉

She also has 3 more events left to come!

But wait, this incredible achievement comes from her second Paralympic sport – cycling!🚴‍♀️

Oh, and did I mention she’s a mother of two and just 46 years young? 💪

Sarah's journey began in swimming, where she won five gold 🥇 medals before the age of 19! Her Paralympic debut was at Barcelona '92 at just 14 years old, where she brought home two golds, three silvers, and a bronze.

By Beijing 2008, her fifth Paralympic Games, Sarah was already dominating cycling, winning the individual pursuit in a time that would have put her in the top 8 at the Olympic final.

In 2010, she made history again, becoming the first disabled cyclist to represent Team England at the Commonwealth Games and only the second Paralympian to compete for Team England.

Paris 2024 marks her 9th Paralympic Games

Sarah's legacy is unmatched.

To say she’s a legend is an understatement. 🙌
