I had the honour to attend The King's Fund a few weeks ago as a panel member for a discussion during their International women's Day event. During which, their needs EDI #Strategy was launched and a beautiful sculpture of Mary Secole was unveiled.

The panel discussion was focused on #GenderEquity but with an intersectional lens because, "none of us are just one identity".

Therefore, the panellists were chosen by their staff networks – #LGBTQ+, #BlackStaff, #ParentsAndCarers, #DisabilityAndLongTermConditions – in order to convene a panel reflective of those intersections.

The panel was chaired by, #CEO Sarah Woolnough and I was nominated by the #DisabilityAndLongTermConditions network. The amazing Deborah Fenney, welcomed me on the day, and, with others supported the coordination of the day and the behind the scenes prep.

It was an event where I left #Fizzing and #Bubbling with #Hope, #Enthusiasm and genuine #Challenge. The #Expertise and #Experience of the panel plus some thought-provoking #Questions left me with ideas, questions, things to read etc

It was a day where you remember that #Change IS and CAN still happen and left me feeling like the #Consultancy and #Advocacy work that I do is worthwhile.

I just #Hope I can, in my own small way, #Drive this year's theme; Together we can #AccelerateAction for #Inclusivity and #Change, forwards with the work I do!

🤞🏿🤞🏿🤞🏿
